World Muslim Population

IslamicPopulation.com

We also wanted to show that, by even taking data from General Sources, like CIA Fact Sheet, we can easily establish that fact that total Muslim Population in 2007  is 1.61  billion which is far greater than currently estimated 1.2 or 1.3 billion. Under general source section, we have taken all the datas from popular sources such as CIA Fact Sheet, HOLT,RINEHART & WINSTON etc.

We think that in some countries the total number of Muslims are more in percentage than shown in general sources, like in China and India. For all those few above cases Islamic Sources, news items and thought provoking articles came in great help. Our reasearch shows that the total Muslim Population is 1.84  billion in year 2007.

Shaykh Saadiq ibn al-Shaykh Hasan Habannakah

by GF Haddad  (Sunna-Principles Yahoogroup)

Shaykh Saadiq Habannakah al-Shafi`i al-Maydani
passed away a few days ago in his late eighties. Rahimahullah.

I heard Shaykh Muhammad al-Ya`qubi say that it would be right Shaykh
Sadiq be considered the Shaykh al-Islam of the people of Shaam, most
notably for the Shafi`i School. There is none left of his caliber
although Shaykh Mustafa al-Khinn shares his fame, but he no longer
teaches. Both were graduates at the hands of Shaykh Sadiq’s father,
the great Mujahid Shaykh Hasan Habannakah, as was also, among his
remaining living students in Damascus, the Mujaddid of the Religion
Dr. Sa`id al-Buti, Shaykh al-Qurra’ Shaykh Kurayyim Rajih, and Shaykh
Muhammad Kamil Sharbaji who flees from the limelight. Shaykh `Abd al-
Rahman, Shaykh Sadiq’s brother, passed away a few years ago.

Shaykh Sadiq’s classes on Shafi`i Fiqh, most recently al-Iqna` in
Jami` Manjak in the historic Maydan neighborhood of Damascus, were
heavily attended, especially by southeast Asia students. He possessed
a wry sense of humor even in his late age. His countenance was full
of light. His mind, deportment and outmoded dress mirrored the
shuyukh and awliya of bygone times more than any of his
contemporaries. He will not be replaced.

Inna lillahi wa-inna ilayhi raji`un.

Was-Salam,
GF Haddad
